The Hague/Vught – Dutch parliament member, Mr. Hilbrand Nawijn acts as solicitor and looks after the Odekerken family’s interest regarding the progress of the lawsuit and investigation on the murder of Mr. Jules M.N. Odekerken in Pattaya, Thailand on November, 17th , 2003.

Mr. Bart Bakker acts as focal point towards the media to elaborate on this case. Nawijn and Bakker are authorized by the family to perform the investigation and the external communication.

“This is an odd case”, according to Nawijn, who is a former minister in the Dutch government and who also served as a lawyer and director of the Immigration and Naturalization department of the Ministry of Justice.

“Mr. Jules Odekerken has been assassinated in Thailand on November, 17th, 2003”, Nawijn continues. “After a confession of his brother-in-law, there are strong indications that  the homicide had been executed by order of the lover of his wife. This man had been arrested but was later released on bail. After his release, it was announced that the lawsuit would not be continued only until October, 2nd 2006. The family rightly cannot agree with the decision that the lawsuit is continued only so late and has strong suspicion that all sorts of evidence are covered up.  Therefore, I am going to concentrate myself on the case and will take further action accordingly.”
